Heyne Tillett Steel
Kelly is an Associate at Heyne Tillett Steel with a keen interest in the development of engineered timber to provide viable solutions for commercial developments.
Kelly recently completed a CLT prefabricated cranked roof at 10 Lower James Street with Eurban, Collins and Halebrown Architects for Knight Frank Investment Management, which was Highly commended at the recent STAwards, and won a AJ Retrofit Award. She has also completed a glulam timber pavilion with Hess and Parkeray for Universal studios and The Office Group, which featured in the 2017 London Design Festival. Kelly is currently working on two other large-scale glulam framed office developments in central London, using CLT floors on a 7-8x6m grid adjacent to and over existing RC frames.
At HTS Kelly leads the in-house timber research taskforce. Her group are currently investigating the behaviour of mechanically fixed composite engineered timber in collaboration with City University, to get the most out of on-site fixings and reducing structural zones.
